Welcome to themetagame

magic_the_gathering-card_back.jpgHello,

You’ve arrived at themetagame.wordpress.com

This site is a discussion board for competitive magic the gathering players.  I am currently based at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  My playgroup has made great headway in terms of testing and learning.  I figure it’s about time to start a blog.  Here we’ll be talking about builds (specifics on archetypes), tech (or attempted tech), the metagame in general (screw you lark blink), Wizards of the Coast business, and of course new sets as they come out.  I’ll be attempting to post something on a daily basis.  If the rest of my playgroup gets interested, we’ll have some legit content.  Now for the interesting part.

Magic is a dynamic and subjective game.  There are in many instances “the right play” but seeing the right play through the cards in your grip and the cards on the board can be difficult.  Skill levels vary greatly and most importantly, we must all remember that everyone has room for improvement.   Comments should be constructive and interesting and you should know that if you come around dropping the “needs more goyf”, you’ll be derided for being a flamer.  Keep the posts clean, make sure that you declare what testing you’ve done to support your ideas, and remember, this game is fun.  So have fun and enjoy.
